Note to Self: Play More Games

Image
I've had a busy couple of weeks and I haven't been gaming as much as I'd like to.  I always prioritize real life responsibilities over gaming, but that hasn't been my problem these last few weeks. My problem has been that I've been reading about games instead of playing them.  I'm keeping up with all of the blogs I follow and still manage to read every Joystiq post.  I think I need to take some of that time and actually start playing again.  Final Fantasy I, Dragon Age: Origins, and StarCraft 2 are all calling my name. I'm not going to take time away from playing with my daughter or spending quality time with my wife, so something else needs to go on the back burner.  I'm pretty sure that needs to be keeping up with google reader. I don't have a lot of free time right now, so I need to spend it wisely.  Anyone else ever run into this problem?

April Fools Day

Keep your eyes on the news carefully today.  Gaming websites love to throw out fake game news on April 1st every year.  It is always interesting to see what they come up with and if people actually buy it. Sometimes good game ideas end up coming from fake announcements on April Fools Day.  We'll see what happens this year.

Remembering to Play Games

Sometimes I get caught up in the meta-gaming.  I read all about games, game theory, development, new ideas, new releases, and everything else relating to this hobby.  So, sometimes I forget to play games. It's not entirely my fault.  There are so many excellent sources of information.  I love to read Joystiq , Massively , Penny-Arcade , Tobold , and Syp .  Those are probably my favorites websites on the internet.  My love of meta-gaming and constant readership of these sites is the reason I decided to start this blog. Whenever I really get into a game I'll look up all the theorycrafting behind making my characters the best they can be.  I remember spending hours of time looking up the best gear and talent builds in WoW when I used to play.  I like having all the information when it comes to a subject I'm interested in. This is my long winded approach to saying that I haven't been playing games enough lately.  Nothing has really grabbed...
